The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and finest departments of this Institution since the inception of institution. The annual sanctioned intake of students in Mechanical Engineering are 60 students in regular, 5 students in PWD and 3 students in Total fee waiver Scheme. This department also has Part Time Diploma course in evening with intake of 25 students. The department has staff members who work with packed devotion and enthusiasm. The department keeps pace with the ever varying challenges of modern day industry and is firm in its commitment to produce erudite and conscientious Mechanical Diploma Engineers.

The course aims at providing the fecund brains with the rudimentary knowledge in Mechanical Engineering. Instructions are imparted in the Areas of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Design of Mechanical Components and Machines, Techniques of Management, Computer Science, CAD/CAM. Design and Fabrication projects are also undertaken as a part of curriculum.

Infrastructure of the Department

THERMODYNAMICS LAB

This Lab has all essential equipments and models to impart practical training of concepts, Principles and applications of basic thermodynamics, four stroke engine test rig, Heat Transfer Equipments, Air Compressor Test rig, Model of Gas Turbine and Steam Generators etc.

APPLIED MECHANICS LAB

In this lab, we have all apparatus which shows practical application of basic concepts of mechanics like Grav sand apparatus, Parallel force apparatus, worm and worm wheel, single winch crab, inclined plane apparatus, Screw jack and simple machines etc.

STRENGTH OF MATERIAL LAB

In this lab behavior of the specimens of diff. materials can be tested on the application of load. Generally following machines are used for conducting the experiments in this lab:

• Universal Testing Machine.
• Rock-well hardness testing machine.
• Impact testing machines.
• Coil Spring testing machine

All the practical of Diploma Stream as per the curriculum can be performed in this Lab.

REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING LAB

This Lab has all essential equipments and models with Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Testing RIG, Various Type of Compressor Models, Ice Plant Testing Rig, Refrigerant charging Machine to perform various experiments.

AUTO ENGG. LAB

This Lab has all essential equipments and models to impart practical training of concepts, functioning and construction of automobile components. Principles and applications of Houses models and prototypes all type of vehicles to study their functioning & construction.

BASIC OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LAB/ C.A LAB

Basic of information technology Lab is newly established lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department. In this lab twelve numbers of computers and one printer has been provided to the students for training of Basic of information technology and Computer Application.

MATERIAL SCIENCE LAB

Equipped with Metallurgical Microscope, Polishing Machine, Pyrometer, Heat Treatment Furnace and Rockwell Hardness Testing Machine
