Qualifications

The candidates seeking admission to this course should fulfill the following requirements: -

  • Pass in 10th with Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in Math and Science plus 3 years related technical work experience;
  • OR
  • 10th + 2 yrs. ITI Certificate one year related technical work experience;
  • OR
  • 12 + with one year related work experience; (with pass marks in Science & Maths in 10th)
  • OR
  • 12 + in Vocational Stream and working in related field (with pass marks in Science & Maths in 10th)

Notes:-

  • The candidates seeking admission should be working within a radius of not more than 50 km.
  • Candidates seeking admission should be employed in a registered Firm/ Company/ Industry Govt. or Semi-Govt. on a full time basis.

For admission to Part-time Diploma in Civil Engineering: -

The candidates seeking admission should have been working as Technicians, Road Inspectors, Draftsman or tracers on important Civil Engineering works or under a construction contractor, who have undertaken works in a Government Organization or Semi-Government/Autonomous Organization costing at least Rs 10 lacs during the last financial year.

For admission to Part-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering:-

Candidates should have been working as Technicians, Chargemen Foremen in an Industry, Workshop, Production Shop under any of the Government Departments or Semi-Government/ Autonomous Organizations or in a well established Private Industry.

For admission to Part-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering:

Candidates should have been working as Technicians, Electricians, Chargemen, Foremen in an Industry, Workshop, Production Shop under any of the Government/ Semi-Government, Autonomous Organizations or in a well established Private Industry.
Notes: – The information sheet is subject to alterations of modifications without notice: -

  • Private Industry shall mean an Industry registered with the Director of Industries/ Chief Inspector of Factories/ Assistant Labour Commissioner of areas concerned and not a shop.
  • Training will be terminable in the event the student gives up work in the related profession during the course of training. He will produce a certificate regarding his continued service in the profession at the beginning of each session every year, within a fortnight.
  • The student, if turned out by the employer in the consequence of retrenchment will be given three months to seek an alternative employment. During this period his training will not be terminated. This fact will be brought to the notice of the Principal within 15 days from the date of retrenchment.
  • A student studying in regular diploma course and who is forced by the circumstances to discontinue his studies in the said course, can get admission in the Part-time Diploma Course if he fulfills, other conditions for admission within four years after the discontinuation of studies in regular course.
  • The Laboratory Attendants and Helpers, trainer, trainee, cleaner shall not be eligible.
  • Apart from sponsorship certificate (contained in Appendix – I), his experience certificate; current as well as for all previous employments, are to be produced by the students employed in private organization in Appendix III and not in any other form. Appendix III form for private Industry/ Workshop/ Contractor for admission to Civil Engineering branch should be duly certified by an officer not below the rank of Executive Engineer and in case of admission to Electrical and Mechanical Engineering branch it should be duly verified by Industries Officer/ Chief Inspector of Factories/ Assistant Labour Commissioner of area concerned.
  • The Verification of Registration of Firm/ Industry/ Contractor/ Architect/ Consultant, i.e. employment in Private Organization must clearly be indicated year-wise as a token of the fact that the organization was registered at the time for which the experience has been claimed. Any period of experience not covered by the above certificate will be ignored.
  • Experience below the age of 18 years shall not be considered. (ix)In case more forms of Appendix III are required for the claim of experience the additional forms may be got typed and used accordingly.
  • There is no age limit.
  • The candidate must produce a certificate from the Employer indicating clearly the date of joining and leaving the service in respect of each employment and nature of technical work/job.
  • Merit in respective branch of Engineering will be made according to marks in Matriculation/Equivalent Examination after giving the due weight age of higher qualification if any in the respective experience category in order of preference as follows: -
    • Five years and above;
    • Three years but below five years;
    • Below three years
  • The employment experience after passing Metric examination shall only be accounted for. The passing of examination shall be considered from the date of declaration of result notification of the said examination by the Board or the University concerned.
  • Experience either on daily wages or on muster rolls, shall not be considered as an experience in the related branch of Engineering for the purpose of admission
