Production and Industrial Engineering Department

The department was established in the year 2005 and it offers three years diploma program in Production and Industrial Engineering that serve the needs for the public or private sectors for trained production engineers. This diploma program is fully affiliated to Punjab State Board of Technical Education Chandigarh.

This course is planned to train the students both in theory and practical work in the following areas of Production Engg : Engineering Drawing, Strength of Materials, Workshop Technology, Production Planning and Control, Industrial Engineering, Tool Engineering, Theory of Machines, Machine Design and Industrial Metrology etc. The students are imparted practical training in workshops on various machining processes to familiarize them with the working of machines. They are also given project problems covering design, fabrication, testing, manufacturing aspects thus giving them opportunities to develop their capabilities to solve practical problems through the use of computers.

The department since its establishment is equipped with best infrastructure facilities. The department has well furnished laboratories and workshops equipped with the latest equipments and instruments. The various experiments as detailed in the curriculum are performed in these laboratories/ workshops for the purpose of blending theoretical inputs with practical know-how.

Admission Process

For admission in diploma program in production and industrial engineering, applicants need to meet the eligibility criteria and guidelines as prescribed by the Punjab state board of Technical Education Chandigarh and guidelines issued by Chandigarh Administration from time to time. On the basis of merit list the selected candidates can advance the admission process by paying the requisite fee and get admitted in the college.
