The objectives of Part Time Diploma Courses is to train persons already working in Government Departments, Industries and other organizations for advancement in their respective groups and to train such persons in the broad fields of Engineering in order to make them successful Supervisors-in-charge in construction, production, operation, maintenance and technical work. This will enable the students to advance to higher position of responsibility either in their own organization or elsewhere. The four year part-time Diploma in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering awarded by the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, is equivalent to the three years regular Diploma for all purposes.

Notes:
- The seats are exchangeable in Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The number of students belonging to the S.C. / S.T. admitted on merits shall not be included in the number of seats reserved. The reserved seats remaining unfilled will be transformed to the general candidates of the concerned pool.
- The admission would be granted to the service personnel themselves of the following categories: -
- Armed Force
- B.S.F.
- Central Reserve Police
- Assam Rifles
- Indo-Tibetan Border Police
Such seats would be not more than 10% of intake seat
- Chandigarh Administration has approved 10% seats over and above the existing sanctioned seats on LEET (LATERAL ENTRY ENGINEERING TEST) pattern for the admission of ITI Holders and 10+2 Vocational , +2 (PCM) & students having passed two years certificate course from SLIET students to the 2nd year Part Time Diploma Courses. The admission will be done by the admission committee constituted by the Principal, CCET Diploma wing as per the guidelines in the Govt. of Punjab Notification No.13/28/10-1TE2/2361 dated 2-6-2011. However, the admission criteria will remain same as for the admission of Part Time Diploma courses already running in the institute.
- Preference will be given to persons working in Government Departments.
