History

Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Sector -26 ,Chandigarh (CCET) formerly known as Central Polytechnic Chandigarh (CPC) ,Sector 26 , Chandigarh was established in 1959 . To cater to the aspiration and ambitions of exponentially growing population of Chandigarh , Chandigarh Administration upgraded the CPC to CCET by introducing two branches of engineering in the year of 2002. The college is under administrative control of the Chandigarh administration and approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).There has been integrated dynamic progress at CCET in degree and diploma programmes in academic and sports activities to bring it at par with leading institution of the country, pertinent to mention the diploma stream of CCET awarded as the “Best Polytechnic ” in the northern region.

CCET is unique in character; the institution provides its services to the residents of Chandigarh by offering various courses from 7:00am to 9:15pm. The various courses that CCET offers are:

1 Diploma Courses (regular) 3 years Affiliated to Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE & IT) Chandigarh.
2 Part Time Diploma 4 year for employed persons
3 Formal Diploma Courses under PWD (Persons with disability) Scheme 3 years

Tution Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS)

Seats upto maximum 5% (supernumerary in nature) of sanctioned intake shall be available under this scheme for students belonging to economical weaker section as per guidelines of AICTE/PSBTE & I.T/U.T Chd. Admn from time to time.

Scheme for Persons with Disabilities (SPWD)

In accordance with “National Policy on Education-1986” and “The Persons with Disabilities Act-1995”, the ministry of Human Resource development, Govt. of India, envisaged a centrally sponsored scheme for selected institutes to integrate the persons with disabilities in the main stream of technical and vocational education. The scheme proposes to train 25 students through regular three years Diploma programmes and 100 persons to be trained through vocational/skill development programmes from among the persons with disabilities in each of the selected instituted all over the country. Chandigarh college of Engineering and Technology is one of them. The primary objective of the scheme is to promote services for the people with disabilities so that they are encouraged to become functional independent and productive member through opportunities in education, vocational and technical training and socioeconomic rehabilitation.

PLACEMENT

Most of students of this college are recruited in leading organizations such as Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Essar Gujarr, L & T, Ashok Leyland, Technology Solutions, Fidelity, Perot Systems, HCL Technologies, Mindtree India Limited and many more.

The college has spacious Lecture Halls, well equipped laboratories and workshop for imparting practical as per the curriculum. The college campus encompasses playgrounds for various games, bank with ATM facility, neat and clean canteen, hostels for girls and boys, guest house, staff complex and multi-gym.

STUDENTS EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The institution provides facilities for different kinds of extra-curricular activities for the students, like Sports and Games. Every student shall take interest in one or more of the activities i.e. Engineering Society, Social Service Squad, Volunteer Squad, Music and Dramatic Club, Science Club, Projection Club, Youth Club, Magazine Club etc.

The Institution is equipped with Multimedia and Computational facilities and the instructional work is supplemented with Film Shows, generally of technical character for the benefit of students.
